How We Do It

My Methods

As a Process Consultant here is the Five (5) Phase process I utilize.

Phase I: Getting To Know You Then Setting Goals
At Restaurant Coaching Solutions™, I honor what you already know about your business and then add my particular expertise. Therefore, as I begin to customize your program, I will ask you about your culture, needs, expectations and goals, past results, experiences and outcomes, background, levels of talent and experience, etc.. This understanding will drive the design and development of your customized program and address the following questions:

  • How would you describe your current business culture?

  • How have you determined success in your business?

  • What has been your experience with previous learning philosophies?

  • What learning, insights, and applications do you need/expect to take away from Restaurant Coaching Solutions™?

Phase II: Who Participates
Choosing which team members participate will depend mainly on how you respond to these questions:

  • Do your managers/leaders support this change experience?

  • How fast do you want buy-in from the entire team?

  • Do peer leaders need to be included from the start or just management/staff?

Typically, a staff member/manager from each functional department (BOH and FOH) should be part of this initiative. Who participates will also be determined, in part, by the size and culture of your business.

Unless the people under consideration have direct line item responsibility, we usually do not include them at this point.

Phase III: Building Your Program
I will collaborate with you or your team to determine the specific Coaching or Consulting suggestions and performance improvement initiatives that will make your experience successful. This phase focuses on:

  • What are your business’s largest areas of opportunity?

  • On what opportunities you want Restaurant Coaching Solutions™ to focus? What will your staff focus on?

  • Is an on-site visit required? How often?

  • How soon can results be achieved?

  • What are the long term goals as well as the short term objectives?

Phase IV: Strategic Planning
You or your team will participate in your customized Restaurant Coaching Solutions™ program of innovative, hands-on discovery through the strategic thinking exercise.

  • Observation and Education - Through experiential activities and guided discussions of your specific experiences, you and your team will begin to understand more complex and successful restaurant business practices.

  • Implementation - You and your team will learn the tools, processes, and systems I use at the Restaurant Coaching Solutions™ to implement our core competencies of leadership, management, service, loyalty and growth.

  • Application - Coaching sessions devoted to your chosen subject areas will allow you and your team to begin applying successful strategies to your own action plans. You will discover how other very successful restaurant businesses have adapted these same practices.

Phase V: Debrief & Follow-Up
After your Restaurant Coaching Solutions™ experience you will participate in a debriefing where you reflect on your experience and prepare to begin executing what you need to implement the appropriate principles and practices you identified during the process.

An appropriate follow-up plan is put in place to monitor progress on an ongoing basis to help you maintain focus and results.
