What we promise
Everything is free. The calculators, guides, worksheets and articles are free to use. There's no sign-up, no email gate in front of downloads, and no "premium" version of a tool.
We're independent. No restaurant group, supplier, software company or association pays for or reviews what we publish. We don't take paid placements, sponsored posts or affiliate commissions, so no product gets mentioned because someone paid for it.
Facts come with sources. When a page relies on a law, a government form, a court ruling or a published number, we link to the original source, usually the agency itself. When we're giving our opinion or a rule of thumb, we say so.
We fix mistakes. If you find an error, email us. We correct factual mistakes quickly and, when the change matters, note it on the page.
Your numbers stay yours. The calculators run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us. There are no cookies, analytics or ads on this site. See the privacy policy.
We keep time-sensitive pages current. Pages about wage rules, tip credits and Form I-9 show an "updated" date. We review them when the underlying rules change.
What we won't do
We won't sell you coaching or consulting. This site has no clients and no service packages, and we don't refer readers to consultants for a fee.
We won't publish testimonials, star ratings or reviews. A site with nothing to sell has no reason to show them, and fake reviews are a problem across the internet that we don't want to add to.
We won't invent statistics. If we can't trace a number to a source we trust, we leave it out or describe it as an estimate. Our turnover calculator, for example, uses your inputs instead of an industry average.
We won't pretend to be someone we're not. Pages are signed by the RCS Editorial Team. We don't use made-up experts or personas, and we have no connection to earlier owners of this domain.
We won't use dark patterns. No pop-ups asking for your email, no countdown timers, no fake scarcity.
